In the early of year 2009, once again Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM) had appointed Junior Chamber International Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (JCKLM) as the host chapter of The Outstanding Young Malaysian (TOYM) Award 2009. Organising Chairman - JC Lyndia Wong is supported and agreed by all members to lead the organizing committee on the road to TOYM 2009. The Organising Committee will visit to several mass media to disseminate the opening of nomination for TOYM program and encouraging young Malaysians to be nominated for the awards. More than 40 chapters nationwide had lent a hand to catch the attention of more outstanding young Malaysians so as to participate in this program. Those TOYM honorees are able to participate in The Outstanding Young Person (TOYP) Award at International level together with 100 over countries. Besides appeal for nomination from various fields, the Organising Committee was also sought for financial support or contribution for the success of this program. The talented members in designing will designed the nomination form and brochures meticulously. With the joining efforts and sacrificing the working hours of oneself, the committee members contribute their energies and monies for preparation and arrangement of TOYM program. At the same time, we had set up a sub-committee specially tasked for sharing sessions in major towns of Malaysia. We invited award winners of previous years to share their valuable experience and to inspire young Malaysians toward positive change. The sharing sessions were overwhelmed by young people all over the country. JCKLM has received the achievement in Malaysia Book of Records, being “First National Award Organiser to achieve ISO 9001:2000 Certification” in nomination, judging and selection process for TOYM 2005. On the road to TOYM 2009, we are share comforts and hardships among ourselves to perform and to meet our obligations with great persistent and a very simple drive that we believe the spirit of The Outstanding Young Malaysian - “The hand of the youth, the hope of the nation”.
TOYM TOWARDS ISO 9001:2000 By accumulating past 7 years’ organizing experiences, we had successfully disseminated the meaning of this program to all level of the communities. Meanwhile, we also upheld the outstanding young persons’ learning spirit to challenge for better development and achievement. In year 2004, we dared to propose to our parent organization JCIM that the selection and judging process of this program should be applied for ISO 9001:2000 quality certification in order to maintain good quality standard of TOYM program so as to gain recognition from the community. With the approval of JCM, JCKLM had set up a sub-committee to work out the necessary preparation and arrangement to meet this ISO target. In addition, we are proud to announce that we had successfully fulfill the qualification of ISO 9001:2000 and received the certificate during the award dinner in year 2004. Hence, the nomination progress is following the guide of ISO 9001:2000.
