Junior Chamber International Malaysia (JCIM) is on the look-out for young achievers in their careers and community work, who will ultimately represent the country at the annual Junior Chamber International World Congress for The Outstanding Young Person of the world Awards (TOYP).

The Outstanding Young Malaysian Awards (TOYM) Program is an yearly JCIM staple since 1985.  Junior Chamber International Kuala Lumpur Mandarin (JCIKLM) has been appointed as the host chapter of this program since 2002. TOYM 2009 program, endorsed by Ministry Youth & Sports, serves as inspirational examples and incentives to the young Malaysian to forge ahead to greater heights of achievements in the spirit of selfless dedication for the further development of the community.

Press Conference was conducted on 27 Feb 2009 at Ministry Youth & Sports. YB Wee Jeck Seng has launched the nomination of TOYM 2009.  YB Wee Jeck Seng wished that more Malaysian Youths Organization and Young Entrepreneurs will grab this opportunity to nominate for this prestigious award.

YB mentioned that, today, we are facing the current forces of globalization and a far more complex phenomenon.  Globalization is full of promises and threats as well.  Our young Malaysians are urged to improve their knowledge from different sectors to prepare to stay abreast to future challenge.

YB added that, to date, 7 out of 122 TOYM Award Honorees, had won the World TOYP awards. "TOYM is also a good way to expose our young Malaysian achievers overseas." he said, urging the public to take part by nominating those who fit the criteria, which their achievements should contribute significantly to the progress of the community and towards the advancement of their fields of endeavour.

JCI Malaysia National President JCI Senator Jamie Tiew, JCI KL Mandarin President JC Leong Kong Meng, Immediate Past President JC Andy Cham, Organizing Chairman JC Lyndia Wong, TOYM Past Honoree Dr. Chin Yew Sing and members of JCI were attended the press conference.
